Senior Data Analyst – Data & AI

Role Overview

Talan is looking for a Senior Data Analyst to accompany major groups in their data transformation by combining analytical expertise, visualization, business understanding, and innovations around AI. The role involves detecting weak signals, explaining performances, and enlightening strategic decisions for clients.

The Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for collecting, understanding, and challenging business needs, exploring and analyzing data from multiple sources, defining and building relevant indicators, and translating complex data into clear and actionable recommendations.

Requirements

• Holder of a Bac +5 (engineering school, university) or equivalent
• Minimum 7 years of experience in data analysis, including significant experience combining data visualization and insights proposition
• Advanced mastery of Power BI: semantic modeling, DAX, Power Query, interactive dashboard design, and performance optimization
• Excellent ability to explore, analyze, and interpret data to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and performance levers
• Strong culture of data restitution and data storytelling, with the ability to adapt messages to different audiences (business, technical teams, management)
• Mastery of data analysis techniques: segmentation, behavioral analysis, performance analysis, correlations, anomaly detection
• Knowledge of AI features of Power BI (Copilot, Q&A in natural language, Smart Narratives, automated analysis) to enrich analyses and accelerate the production of insights
• Familiarity with other data visualization tools (Tableau, Qlik Sense, Looker Studio) is an asset
• Solid mastery of SQL for data exploration, analysis, and preparation
• Use of data preparation tools (DBT, Dataiku, Alteryx)
• Good understanding of data models and modern analytical architectures
• Sensitivity to data quality, reliability, and governance issues
• Ability to exploit diverse data sources and cross multiple information to build high-value analyses
• Mastery of AI and AI generative uses to accelerate data exploration, research of insights, and production of analytical deliverables
• Ability to use AI assistants to enrich analyses, automate certain investigations, and improve the decision-making experience
• Sensitivity to data traceability, quality, security, and governance issues
• Experience with modern analytical environments: Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, Microsoft Fabric, or equivalent platforms
• Understanding of data storage, transformation, and exposure principles in modern analytical platforms
• Familiarity with versioning (Git) and collaborative development practices is an asset
• Experience working in an agile mode (Scrum, Kanban, SAFE)
• Ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders: business, technical teams, and management
• Mastery of collaborative tools and project management (Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Teams…)
• Good level of professional English (oral and written) – B2 minimum
• Certifications (a plus): Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst (PL-300), Microsoft Fabric Analytics Engineer (DP-600), Databricks Data Analyst Associate, AI Applied Certifications to Data and Business Intelligence
