Role Overview

Delivers professional communication and marketing services to deliver a strong and positive tone reflecting TMA’s member-driven vision, mission, and policies through a highly integrated communications strategy.

What You Will Do

Develop communications and marketing strategies, oversee all communications and publications, manage public relations/mass media strategies, write speeches, and prepare and monitor annual divisional budget.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 10 years of work experience
  • Demonstrated experience and leadership in managing a comprehensive strategic communication, media relations, and marketing program
  • Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills
  • Superior management skills
  • Exceptional writing experience and editorial judgement
  • Familiarity with the Texas legislative process
  • Ability to be a team player and deal effectively and appropriately with the public, TMA members, and other TMA employees
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Ability to plan work that requires judgment and analysis of problems or material issues
  • Expertise in basic office computer programs (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and use of social media and the web editing
  • Knowledge of basic HTML
