Jr Data Engineer – Custom Solutions

Role Overview

We’re looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Junior Data Engineer to join our growing team! We’re a close-knit group building and maintaining mission-critical data products, and we need someone who can hit the ground running. This role requires a solid understanding of data engineering best practices, and experience with orchestration, data modeling, and data warehouses.

What You Will Do

Design, build, and maintain production data pipelines that power customer-facing solutions. You’ll leverage various technologies we already use, including GCP services like Cloud Composer, Cloud SQL, and BigQuery.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Proven experience (2+ years) building and maintaining data pipelines using Airflow/Cloud Composer.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing principles and experience working with BigQuery.
• Understanding of data engineering fundamentals, like ETL/ELT, data modeling, and building idempotent, reliable pipelines.
• Experience with Git and cloud platforms (GCP preferred).
• Experience building and deploying interactive dashboards or data apps (e.g., Dash on Cloud Run) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills – you’ll be working closely with analysts and other stakeholders.
• Comfort and enthusiasm for using AI tools like Claude in your daily workflow.
