Role Overview
We are seeking a Data & Cloud Solutions Engineer for our Data Sciences Practice in Los Angeles, CA. The primary work will revolve around helping Exponent’s team rapidly implement and iterate algorithms, analyses, and visualizations to support clients in the consumer electronics, utilities, and life sciences.
What You Will Do
Delivering highly technical consulting in software development, data engineering, data science, and DevOps by designing, automating, deploying, and maintaining robust, scalable data solutions to support client business objectives. Leading or collaborating on all phases of the client engagement lifecycle, including identifying client needs, framing and scoping business problems, developing project and sprint plans, building and deploying analytics solutions, and translating insights into actionable recommendations.

Requirements
- Advanced degree (Ph.D. or M.S.) in Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or closely related scientific/technical field
- Expertise spanning several domains, including software development, data engineering, data science, and DevOps
- Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining data-intensive applications in cloud or hybrid environments
- Proficiency with at least two of the following: Python, R, C++, SQL, or Linux (RH 7+), plus experience developing across diverse platforms
- Experience with visualization/dashboard tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, or custom web solutions
- Strong communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to translate complex technical, scientific, and business concepts for diverse audiences
- Business acumen and entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of identifying value for clients, framing business plans, and driving business development
- Strong project management and organizational skills; ability to thrive independently and as a collaborative team member in fast-paced, multidisciplinary settings
