Role Overview

Leading Path Consulting seeks a Business Development Director to establish new business relationships for securing new subcontracting clients and contracts with the US Government. The Director will formulate and execute strategy, develop and qualify a pipeline, and oversee full opportunity lifecycle management.

What You Will Do

Responsibilities include formulating and executing strategy, pipeline development, and other activities to win new business in the US Government space. The Director will oversee the development and execution of customer call plans, assess the competitive landscape, and apply knowledge of leading competitors to foster an effective and differentiated win strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong track record of business development success with the US Government customer
  • Previous operational experience working across diverse verticals and understanding of the IT and cyber mission areas and mission support services
  • Knowledge of US Government customers and understanding of commands, mission areas, and spaces
  • 10+ years of business development and/or capture experience with demonstrated success developing a qualified new business pipeline and winning new business
  • Strong familiarity with federal acquisition regulations, policies, and contract vehicles
  • Experience working with 8a business, SWaM business, direct awards, sole source awards, as well as full and open pursuits
  • Current secret or higher clearance (can sponsor for a Top Secret)
  • Ability to identify key growth areas and develop new business aligned with the company’s growth strategy
  • Knowledge of government contracting and current acquisition trends and customer buying behaviors
  • Knowledge of competitors and ability to model competitor behavior in the market
  • Strong contract management, negotiation, and influencing skills
  • Ability to present and communicate effectively at senior levels
  • Problem solving and decision making
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to travel up to 20 percent of the time or as business dictates
