Overview
The Sales Operations Analyst plays a critical role in supporting and enabling the sales team to operate efficiently and effectively. This role involves ownership of Salesforce.com reporting and dashboards, sales enablement, territory management, and data stewardship. The ideal candidate is analytical, process oriented, and highly skilled in Salesforce.
Responsibilities
Salesforce Reporting and Dashboards
- Develop, maintain, and optimize Salesforce reports and dashboards to provide visibility into sales performance, pipeline health, KPIs, and forecasting.
- Serve as a first-line resource for Salesforce reporting, dashboard, and data-quality questions.
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Finance teams to ensure accurate and actionable analytics.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure data integrity and consistency in Salesforce.
- Improve Salesforce data quality, reporting consistency, and adoption across the sales organization.
Sales Enablement & Support
- Provide tools, resources, and training to help sales teams improve productivity and performance.
- Collaborate with Marketing to align messaging, lead qualification criteria, and collateral for the sales team.
- Manage onboarding and continuous training programs for new and existing sales team members.
Salesforce.com Database Management
- Maintain Salesforce data hygiene by implementing best practices for data entry, standardization, deduplication, and enrichment.
- Act as a data steward, ensuring high-quality, up-to-date customer and prospect data to support sales activities.
- Implement and monitor data governance policies.
Sales Territory Management
- Work with sales leadership to inform territories based on performance, capacity, or strategic goals.
- Maintain documentation and maps related to territory boundaries and assignments.
Additional Responsibilities
- Support weekly forecast, pipeline review, and QBR reporting processes.
- Identify opportunities for process automation and system improvements within the sales function.
- Lead or participate in cross-functional projects that impact the sales organization.
- Leverage AI-powered tools and automation to improve sales analytics, forecasting accuracy, reporting efficiency, and workflow optimization.
- Ad hoc sales enablement projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in sales operations, business operations, or a related role
- Advanced Salesforce CRM expertise, including report and dashboard development
- Experience analyzing sales performance, pipeline health, forecast accuracy, revenue trends, and funnel metrics
- Strong analytical and data visualization skills (e.g., Excel, Tableau, or Power BI)
- Proven ability to influence and coach sales leaders on best practices related to sales process adherence, CRM utilization, and data hygiene
- Comfort leveraging AI-enabled tools (e.g., generative AI, AI-assisted analytics, or automation platforms) to improve operational efficiency and enrich data is preferred
- Exceptional organizational, project management, and communication skills
- Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding KPIs, including data accuracy and reporting timeliness.
- Experience with sales enablement tools and/or platforms tools preferred.
- Experience with Salesforce.com integration with platforms such as Marketo a plus.
