Global Category Manager – CRO (Director)

Role Overview

The Global Category Manager for Contract Research Organizations (CRO) leads strategic sourcing and procurement activities for CRO services with over $600M annual spend. This role involves developing and implementing global category strategies, managing supplier relationships, and driving cost-saving initiatives while ensuring quality and compliance.

What You Will Do

Develop and implement global category strategies, manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, track and manage SRM, lead global sourcing initiatives, implement best practices in procurement processes, and ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 13 years of experience in procurement, category management, or supply chain management
  • ISM (Institute of Supplier Management) Certifications: CPSM, CPSD
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills
  • Excellent analytical, financial, and strategic thinking abilities
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a global, cross-functional environment
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and quality standards
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools such as Cirtuo, Ariba, and SAP
