Data Analyst/Engineer – Casualty Analytics

Role Overview

Join Gallagher Re’s Casualty Analytics team as a Data Analyst/Engineer to work with actuaries, deliver high-quality data solutions, and drive the evolution of the team’s data capabilities.

What You Will Do

Collaborate with brokers and clients, design and build Python data pipelines, develop data quality checks, and lead the development of a central casualty exposure and claims database.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, statistics, mathematics or a similarly quantitative, technical subject
• Proven experience in a data analyst/engineering role, with a focus on technical data pipelining and analysis in the insurance industry
• Excellent Python skills, with demonstrable, production-quality experience using pandas and related libraries
• Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows
• Strong SQL, with practical experience of designing relational database schemas and building and maintaining data stores
• A proven track record of working with large, messy, inconsistently structured datasets and making them analysis-ready
• Experience designing and implementing automated data quality checks and controls
• Advanced Excel and Power Query skills, with data visualisation experience in Power BI
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders
• Knowledge of data governance frameworks and regulatory compliance, including GDPR
