Role Overview

As a Velocity Pre-Sales Systems Engineer at Veeam, you will serve as a trusted technical and strategic advisor to enterprise customers navigating some of their most critical technology decisions.

What You Will Do

Lead complex pre-sales engagements, including discovery, architecture design, solution positioning, and technical validation. Act as a trusted advisor to IT practitioners, engineers, architects, and senior leaders by translating business objectives into secure, resilient, and scalable architectures.

Why It Might Be a Fit

This role is built for a technologist who thrives on complexity, curiosity, and impact. You will operate at the intersection of technology strategy, architecture, and real-world operations — engaging deeply in technical design while also influencing executive conversations around data resilience, cyber recovery, risk reduction, and modernization.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in pre-sales systems engineering, solutions architecture, or related technical customer-facing roles, supporting SMB to Mid-Market customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively own technical execution for assigned sales opportunities, driving progress across discovery, solution design, technical validation, and proof-of-concept (POC) activities.
  • Proven experience managing multiple concurrent technical engagements, balancing depth of technical involvement with responsiveness, prioritization, and consistent deal momentum.
  • Strong foundational technical background across enterprise infrastructure domains, including data resilience, compute and virtualization platforms, cloud services, networking, and security, with the ability to apply this knowledge to customer challenges and business objectives.
  • Ability to identify technical risks, gaps, and dependencies early, and work collaboratively with sales and internal teams to address them and keep opportunities moving forward.
  • Working knowledge of data security, privacy, governance, and regulatory considerations that influence enterprise IT and data protection strategies.
  • Foundational understanding of AI, machine learning, and large language models (LLMs), with the ability to explain how trusted, resilient, and well-governed data enables modern analytics and AI initiatives.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to lead customer-facing technical discussions, presentations, demonstrations, and workshops for IT practitioners, architects, and management-level audiences.
  • Proven ability to operate independently, exercising sound judgment within established frameworks while consulting appropriately on higher-impact or ambiguous decisions.
  • Collaborative and proactive mindset, with experience partnering closely with sales and cross-functional teams to advance opportunities, improve processes, and support consistent execution.
  • Demonstrated commitment to team development, including mentoring junior colleagues through technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and leading by example.

Benefits

  • Unlimited paid time off
  • 12 paid holidays including 4 global VeeaMe Days for self-care and 24 paid volunteer hours annually through Veeam Cares
  • Paid parental leave: 8 weeks for all parents, 16 weeks for birthing parents
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage starting on your first day
  • Mental health support, therapy sessions, and digital wellness tools via our Employee Assistance Program
